Search continues for inmates who escaped from Missouri jail

BARRY COUNTY —The United State's Marshals and law enforcement authorities continue the search for three inmates who escaped from the Barry County Jail in southwest Missouri, according to the sheriff's department. They may have traveled through Kansas.

Lance Justin Stephens, Matthew Allen Crawford and Christopher Allen Blevins are considered armed and dangerous. They were jailed on requested theft, drug and weapons charges.

The inmates are believed to be connected to the theft of a white 2002 GMC Sierra 2500 pickup stolen in Barry County in Southwest Missouri and  found in Salina, according to Police Captain Paul Forrester.

In addition, the inmates are suspected in the theft of a 2005 GMC Yukon in Salina that was later found in far western Kansas.
