
SHAWNEE COUNTY —Police investigating a deadly shooting in Topeka have identified the victim as Olivia Miller, 51, of Topeka, according to Police Lt. Edward Stanley.
Just after 7:30 a.m. Friday, police responded to a shooting in the 2700 Block of SW Burnett Road.

First responders found three individuals who had life-threatening injuries. Olivia MIller was pronounced deceased on scene by medical personnel, and the other two were taken to a local area hospital.
As a result of the investigation, police arrested 29-year-old Devin Miller of Topeka on requested charges of first degree murder and aggravated battery.

This is the city’s 1st homicide investigation of 2025. Police have not released details on the relationship between the suspect and the victim.
