
JACKSON COUNTY, Kan. —Law enforcement are investigating a suspect on drug allegations. Just after 10:30a.m. February 21, a Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a silver Acura on 150th Road, just west of U.S. Highway 75, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.
A Jackson County Sheriff’s Office K-9 alerted to the presence of illegal drugs in the vehicle. The driver, David Douglas Friend, 53, of Topeka, was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while suspended, failure to provide proof of insurance and for an outstanding Jackson County warrant.
The passenger, Lisa Tumey, 51, of Topeka, was arrested and released to the Topeka Police Department’s custody for outstanding warrants.
