
KANSAS CITY—One person was injured in a fire Thursday in Kansas City.
Just after 1p.m., crews responded to a reported apartment fire in the 9300 block of Bales Drive, according to Battalion Chief Riley Nolan.

Crews reported smoke and fire showing from the exterior of a three-story occupied apartment building. Companies initiated an offensive fire attack on arrival using one handline. Searches of the structure were conducted and came back "all clear". The fire was brought under control just after 1:28 p.m. EMS transported one resident for evaluation and treatment of smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is under investigation by KCFD.
