SUMNER COUNTY— Officials in the city of Wellington on Friday released the name of the apprentice lineman who died in a workplace accident at the city’s power plant.

Just before 9:30a.m. Wednesday, 20-year-old Wilson Price died after coming into contact with an energized piece of equipment, according to a media release.

In January, Price joined the Electric Distribution Department at the City of Wellington as an apprentice.

"Wilson had not been with the city long and was quickly becoming an outstanding lineman. His contributions to the reliability of our community’s electric system were invaluable."  The entire city family deeply feels his loss, according to Assistant City Manager Jason Newberry.
