KHP IDs Kansas man who died in SUV, pickup crash

CRAWFIRD COUNTY —Authorities have identified a Kansas man who died in an accident just after 6:30p.m. Saturday in Crawford County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2088 Chevy S-10 driven by Jeffery A. Leroy, 61, Pittsburg, was southbound on U.S. 69 ten miles north of Kansas 47. A 2019 GMC Yukon driven by Carter J. Edgecomb, 18, was  northbound.

The Chevy traveled left of center. Both vehicles attempted evasive maneuvers, colliding in the center of the roadway.

Leroy was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Frontier Forensics. EMS transported Edgecomb to Via Christi. A 16-year-old passenger in the. Yukon was not injured. Leroy was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.

CRAWFORD COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a fatal Saturday evening crash in Crawford County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a was southbound vehicle on U.S. Highway 69 ten miles north of Kansas 47 Highway traveled left of center. A northbound vehicle and the southbound vehicle collided in the center of the roadway.   The KHP released no additional details late Saturday.
