Kansas man dies after motorcycle rear-ends SUV

REPUBLIC COUNTY—A Kansas man died in an accident just after 8a.m. Tuesday in Republic County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2004 Harley Davidson Road King motorcycle driven by Scott McIntosh, 58, Olathe, was eastbound on U.S. 36 two miles east of Bellville. 

The motorcycle attempted to pass a 2004 GMC Yukon driven by Bradley Dean Hansen, 43, Concordia, who was slowing down to turn left on Talmo Road.

The motorcycle struck the SUV. McIntosh was ejected from the motorcycle and struck the guardrail. He was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to  Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart-Surber Funeral Home.  

Hansen was not injured and not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP. McIntosh was wearing a helmet, according to the KHP.
