Manhattan —The Kansas Board of Regents named Dr. Richard Linton as the 15th president of Kansas State University during a special meeting Thursday morning.

Political leaders from across the state welcomed Linton, who served as the Dean, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at North Carolina State University since 2012, to his new role in Manhattan.

The Regents chose Dr. Linton after a committee-led search to identify the next president of K-State. The search process began after current President Richard Myers announced in May that he would retire at the end of 2021.
