Geary County Sheriff
On Sunday, March 29, 2026, at approximately 6:08 PM, Deputies with the Geary County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a deceased individual in the Republican River west of North Washington Street.
Upon arrival, Deputies located an adult female, identified as 40-year-old Ashley R. Hatcher. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
At this time, there are no indications of foul play. The investigation is ongoing, and the official cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy.
