Injured Kansas firefighter remains in serious condition

SEDGWICK COUNTY—A Kansas firefighter was injured while fighting a house fire Friday night in Wichita.

The firefighter went down in the home in the 4300 Block of West Douglas and a Mayday was called, according to a social media report from the Wichita Fire Department.

Crews removed the firefighter within seconds and began CPR. Emergency crews  transported him to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

On Saturday, the Wichita Fire Department reported the firefighter remains in serious condition but has stabilized. He is undergoing further evaluation.
