Kansas child sex crime suspect agrees to plea deal

SEDGWICK COUNTY— A Kansas man with previous convictions for rape and theft is going back to prison after he was charged with sex crimes involving 5 children.

Last week, Judge David Kaufman sentenced 60-year-old Stacy A. Munsell to just more than 32-years in prison, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office.

In March of 2021, Munsell of Wellington, was charged with 5 counts of aggravated criminal sodomy, 9 counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child, attempted aggravated criminal sodomy, criminal sodomy, attempted criminal sodomy, 2 counts of indecent liberties with a child, and furnishing alcoholic liquor or cereal malt beverage to a minor, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney.  All 20 crimes were felonies.  At the time the crimes were committed, he was on parole for two sex-related crimes, according to Wichita Police.

In October, Munsell agreed to plead guilty to four counts of kidnapping and furnishing alcohol to a minor and prosecutors amended or dismissed the sex crime charges, according to the district attorney's office.
