Police alert drivers to herd of elk in northeast Kansas

RILEY COUNTY—Authorities in Riley County urged drivers near Keats, an unincorporated community  Wildcat Township northwest of Manhattan to watch out for the herd of elk, according to a social media report from the Riley County Police Department.

The RCPD responded to a truck that struck two elk. The driver was not injured but the elk did not survive and the truck sustained some heavy damage.
