LYON COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a suspect on drug allegations.
Just after 10a.m. January 4, police were executing a search warrant at 917 Lawrence Street in Emporia as part of a narcotics investigation, according to Police Captain Ray Matta.
While the officers were attempting to execute the search warrant an unknown person in the house barricaded themselves in the house.
Officers did not know if the person was armed at the time. Officers also noticed pedestrians in the area and asked for shelter-in-place for the safety of the citizens in the area. The barricade was handled without any injuries to any parties. The shelter-in-place was then canceled.
Police arrested 27-year-old Rafael Munuz Garcia on requested charges of Distribute opiate/narc/certain stim/heroin; distribution of methamphetamines; Interference with LEO; unknown circumstance; felony Possession of marijuana and Use/possess w/intent to use drug paraphernalia into human body, according to online jail records.
