SALINA —A Kansas man who accidentally shot himself was later arrested.
Just after 7:30p.m. July 2, police were dispatched to the Village Inn, 453 S. Broadway in Salina for the report of shots fired in the parking lot, according to Salina Police Captain Gary Hanus.
When they arrived, they encountered Oscar Zamarron, 41, of Salina, who had a gunshot wound on his left wrist. During the investigation, officers determined that Zamarron had accidentally discharged the gun.
Hanus said Zamarron was transported by EMS to Salina Regional Health Center, where he was treated and released. Officers also discovered that Zamarron was not legally able to possess a firearm, so he was arrested on the following requested charges of Criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, Criminal use of a weapon, Unlawful discharge of a firearm, Disorderly conduct
