Juvenile witness IDs KC man in woman's murder

 KANSAS CITY —A Kansas City man has been charged in the fatal shooting on March 13, 2023, inside a south Kansas City residence, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker.

Jaylen E. McDaniel, 31,  faces Murder 2nd Degree, Armed Criminal Action, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.

According to court records, on March 13, 2023, Kansas City police officers were dispatched to the 11500 block of Food Lane on a reported shooting. Officers found the victim, Trianna Tisdale inside the residence. She was transported to a hospital and later died. A juvenile witness was located who told police the victim and the defendant had been arguing. The witness saw the defendant shoot the victim then flee the scene in the victim's car. Police collected evidence at the scene and a computer check showed the defendant was a convicted felon.

The defendant was taken into custody in southern Missouri earlier in the week.
