
CLARK COUNTY —Crews were busy fighting another grass fire in southwest Kansas over the weekend.

Just before 4:30a.m. Saturday, crews were paged out to a grass fire on Kansas 34 highway at mile marker 23, according to a media release from the Ashland Fire Department.
A tire blew out on a semi trailer that caught the trailer tire and the grass on fire. With the help of Minneola, Englewood, Ford County, Comanche County and Kiowa County, crews extinguised the fire and were able to arrive home around 7:30a.m. There were no injuries reported.
