JOHNSON COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 8:30a.m. Monday in Johnson County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2004 Sterling Dump Truck driven by Leslie L. Kendig, 68, Osawatomie, was northbound on Kansas 7 just south of College Boulevard in lane #2. The dump truck drifted into lane #1 and struck a trailer pulled by a Ford F350. The dump truck driver overcorrected to the right, entered the ditch and rolled.
Kendig was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the KHP. The pickup driver identified as Patrick E. Clement, 52, Lane, Kansas, was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
