Police capture suspect in theft from Kansas church

SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities investigating the theft of a decorative bench from Christ the King Church on Sept. 19 have made an arrest.

On Thursday, police arrested 27-year-old Austin Greenhoff on charges related to two theft incidents in Wichita, including the theft of the bench from the church.

Greenhoff has posted bond and is no longer in custody, according to online jail records.

The arrest was made after extensive follow-up work by the Wichita Police Auto Crimes Enforcement Unit. With the help of citizens, they were able to locate Greenhoff, his truck, and evidence of the crimes committed.

He was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on requested charges that include the two theft cases and he is also a suspect in four additional cases that occurred in Sedgwick County.
