SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement investigating a homicide in Topeka have made an arrest.

Just before 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, Police responded to the 2000 Block of SW Stone for a check welfare on an individual.
First responders found 45-year-old David Bentley suffering from a gun shot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel.
As a result of the investigation, Colton G. Miller, 27, Topeka was transported to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections and is being held on requested charges of Murder in the 1st degree, Unlawful to acquire proceeds from a drug transaction, Use of communication facility in commission of a felony drug violation and Distribute controlled substance.
