PAWNEE COUNTY —A special question regarding Liquor by the Drink in Pawnee County will appear on the backside of the Pawnee County Nov. 5, 2024, General Election ballot.

Currently all licensed drinking establishments in Pawnee that offer alcoholic liquor for consumption by the individual drink are required to derive at least 30 percent of their gross receipts from the sales of food.

In February, the Board of County Commissioners of Pawnee County determined that the voters should be given a choice as to the appropriate restriction to the sale of alcoholic liquor for consumption by the individual drink in Pawnee County.

A vote of YES would eliminate the 30 percent food sales requirement. A Vote of NO would maintain the current 30 percent food sales requirement.

If passed, the new liquor by the drink rule would become effective Jan. 1, 2025. Advanced voting starts next week.
