Kan. massage parlor gunfight involved attempted robbery

SEDGWICK COUNTY— Wichita Police Officers are investigating another deadly shooting.

Just after 3:30p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a shooting at a massage parlor at 2723 SE Boulevard Plaza, according to Officer Juan Rebolledo.  First responders discovered a man later identified as Robexy Figueroa from Wyoming, with multiple gunshot wounds.

He was pronounced deceased at the scene by Sedgwick County EMS.

Preliminary investigations suggest that  Figueroa entered the establishment armed with a firearm to commit a robbery. An altercation ensued between Figueroa and a 71-year-old man resulting in an exchange of gunfire.

The 71-year-old man sustained multiple gunshot injuries and was transported to a local hospital. He was reported in stable condition on Thursday afternoon and is expected to recover, according to Rebolledo.
