Preliminary hearing for Kansas home invasion killing

SEDGWICK COUNTY —A suspect charged in connection with a home invasion killing is due back in court Friday

Andre Bryant, 39, is scheduled to attend a preliminary hearing in the courtroom of Judge Tyler Roush, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office. He has been charged with felony murder, aggravated murder, aggravated battery, attempted second-degree murder, aggravated burglary, and felon in possession of a firearm in connection with the Dec. 27, home invasion shooting in the 100 block of North Ash in Wichita that left one man dead and another injured.

Police arrested him On January 15.

Just before 8:30p.m. on December 27, police responded to the home on North Ash  and found a 52-year-old man and a 67-year-old man inside the home with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to a hospital. The 52-year-old later died. 

A neighbor, identified as 54-year-old Matthew Morgan, was previously arrested and booked into the Sedgwick County Jail and was charged with second-degree reckless murder.

Bryant remains jailed on a $1,000,000.00 bond, according to online jail records.
