Police looking for victims in child sex crime investigation

CLOUD COUNTY — A Kansas man is going to prison after his conviction  for child sex crimes and law enforcement continue to investigate other possible victims involving 21-year-old David Brown.

On Jan. 28, law enforcement opened an investigation involving allegations of crimes against children, according to a media release from the Concordia Police Department. Over the next three months, Concordia Police detectives, along with Abilene police and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, worked closely together.

Police executed ten search warrants and seized multiple electronic devices were and examined them. Investigators also conducted interviews with victims, witnesses and the suspect identified as David Brown.

On February 13, police arrested Brown and booked him into Cloud County Jail on multiple requested charges related to possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamines in addition to crimes against children.

On August 19, Brown was convicted of rape and aggravated indecent liberties with a child. He was sentenced to 235 months in prison, according to Concordia Police.

The Concordia Police Department encourages parents and guardians to speak with their children to see if they have had any contact with David “Axel” Brown.
