The Kansas Department of Transportation began a resurfacing project in Gove County last week.

Project work consists of a surface recycle followed by a mill and overlay on approximately 17.5 miles of K-23 starting at the Lane County line and ending at the south city limits of Gove. Crews will also resurface K-211 near Grainfield and K-216 near Park as part of the project.

Traffic will be directed through the work zones by flaggers and a pilot car during daylight hours. Minor delays, not exceeding 15 minutes, can be expected.

KDOT anticipates work to be completed by the end of June, weather permitting.

Venture Corporation of Great Bend is the primary contractor for the $3.5 million project. For more information, please contact KDOT area construction manager Todd Anderson at 785-672-3113 or [email protected].
