KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Kansas City.
Just after 4p.m. Wednesday, patrol officers responded to the area of 11th and Elmwood in Kansas City on a suspicious activity call regarding an individual possibly involved in an armed carjacking, according to KCPD Sergeant Phil DiMartino.
At 9th and Van Brunt officers located the individual. There was an interaction between officers and the subject that led to an exchange of gunfire between the subject and officers.
The subject ran from the scene and entered a vehicle. Officers initiated a vehicle pursuit as the subject fled the area. The pursuit concluded at the Lewis and Clark Viaduct. A subject was taken into custody without incident, pending further investigation.
No injuries were reported, according to DiMartino.
