JACKSON COUNTY, Kan. —Law enforcement are investigating a suspect on drug allegations.
Last month, a Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a Ford Edge on U.S. Highway 75 near 118th Road near Hoyt, according to Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse.
During the traffic stop, a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted, resulting in the discovery of multiple bags containing suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, digital scales, plastic baggies, and numerous other items of drug paraphernalia.
A probable cause search of the front-seat passenger, Tara Lord, 45, of Holton, Kansas, resulted in the discovery of additional bags containing suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Further investigation, including evidence located on Lord and within her belongings in the vehicle, led investigators to determine that Lord was allegedly involved in the distribution of methamphetamine.
Following interviews and additional investigation, no probable cause was established to arrest the driver. The driver was subsequently released from the scene.
Later that afternoon, Lord was arrested and transported to the Jackson County Jail where she remains on requested charges of Distribution of methamphetamine, Possession of methamphetamine, Possession of marijuana, Possession of drug paraphernalia and Use of a communication device in the commission of a drug felony
