
JOHNSON COUNTY –A Kansas man is going to prison for killing a man near a Kansas middle school.
On September 25, a judge sentenced 25-year-old Armando Javier Guerrero to 55 months in the Kansas Department of Corrections for the shooting death of 21-year-old Landen Roggenkamp in March, according to the Johnson County District Attorney's office. Guerrero entered a guilty plea last month to the voluntary manslaughter charge.

On March 25, police responded to a shooting in the 1400 block of East Mart-Way Circle in Olathe. The location is less than a quarter of a mile from Santa Fe Trail Middle School.
First responders found Roggenkamp with multiple wounds, according to a statement from police. EMS transported him to a local hospital where he was was pronounced deceased.
The Olathe Police Department took Guerrero into custody, and officers said they believed he and Roggenkamp knew each other.
