FINNEY COUNTY —The first winter storm of the month of March is bringing winds of over over 70 and 80 mph to southwest Kansas with blowing dust. Mad Dog Metals, a business west of Garden City, lost its roof in the storm, and debris was reported in the roadway blocking the road to Holcomb.
Garden City is also reporting power outages.
On Tuesday morning crews were dispatched to Hwy 50 for a two vehicle collision, according to Kearney County Fire and Rescue. With the blowing dirt it made conditions hazardous.
Rescue crews have been paged out to multiple roll overs accidents.
If you have to be out give your self extra time. Turn your headlights on and flashers while going through the blowing dirt.
