LABETTE COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 3:30p.m. Saturday in Labette County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2019 Hyundai Elantra driven by Spencer Alec Gatewood, 30, Altamont, was eastbound on 24000 Road just east of Jackson Road two and one half miles west of Parsons.
The driver failed to negotiate a curve in the road. The car enter the south ditch and overturned in a pond.
Gatewood was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to the Frontier Forensics. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
