MANHATTAN—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas teen in connection with an incident involving a gun.
Just after 7:30 p.m. on Monday, police were called to Sonic Drive-In 2711 Anderson Avenue in Manhattan. A 19-year-old and two 20-year-old women reported a 16-year-old boy pointed a gun at them while in the parking lot at the restaurant.
As officers arrived, the suspect later identified as 16-year-old Cedric Swinson of Manhattan ran from Sonic across Westport Place to the parking lot of Walgreens and then crossed Garden Way and was taken into custody in the parking lot of the Evergreen Apartments.
Swinson was processed by North Central Kansas Juvenile Intake and released to a guardian. He faces requested charges of aggravated assault and interference with LEO, according to the RCPD.
