Search continues for Kansas homicide suspect

SEDGWICK COUNTY—The Wichita Police Department continues asking for information about the whereabouts of 38-year-old Brent Cruz, who is wanted in connection with a homicide investigation from 2022 and didn't appear for the trial. 

Cruz was charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon in connection to the shooting death of 31-year-old Nyron Bowen on April 24, 2022, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office.  Cruz met the requirement of $500,000 bond and was no longer in police custody.

He has previous convictions for aggravated robbery, robbery, theft and aggravated escape from custody, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.
