FINNEY COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a hit-and-run accident and asking the public for help to locate a vehicle.
Just before 1a.m. Tuesday, police were dispatched to a pedestrian accident involving a 44-year-old man at the intersection of Fulton Street and 12th Street in Garden City, according to a media release.
Upon arrival, officers located the man lying in the roadway. The man was alert and able to speak to first responders.
The investigation revealed that the man had left El Patron Bar and was crossing Fulton Street when he was struck by a Chevrolet Silverado.
Witnesses said that the Silverado was driving recklessly, and the vehicle fled the accident scene before officers arrived. EMS transported the man to St. Catherine Hospital for treatment.
Officers are attempting to identify the driver of the vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to contact police. The victim's name has not been released.
