KANSAS CITY, Kan. —Detectives with the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department announced Friday that a 17-year-old suspect has been arrested and charged by the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office with first-degree felony murder in the shooting death of 15-year-old Zy’Aer Hamilton, according to a statement from Kansas City, Kansas police.
The suspect is also charged with two counts of interference with law enforcement.
Just after 6p.m. May 1, officers were dispatched to a shooting in the 2800 block of Parallel Parkway in Kansas City, Kansas. Upon arrival, officers located a Hamilton deceased inside the home, the victim of apparent gunshot wounds.
