The Hays USD 489 school board approved its 2021-22 school calendar at its meeting Monday.
School will start on Aug. 18. The last day of school for Hays High School and Hays Middle School will be May 19, 2022. The elementary schools will end with a half day on May 20, 2022.
Spring break will be March 14-18, 2022.
The board asked Superintendent Ron Wilson asked if the schedule allowed for snow days.
Wilson said although the school does have the capacity to go to remote learning at times of inclement weather, he said the district has no intent of doing away with snow days at this time.
