SEWARD COUNTY—Fire crews spent overnight battling a large grass fire in rural Seward County.

The fire burned over 100 acres and could be seen from Highway 54 near  Arkalon Road, according to a social media report from Seward County.

Fire personnel reported good containment lines throughout the overnight hours. However, round bales continued to burn on the southern edge of the fire causing drifting smoke in the area.

Due to the high winds, law enforcement were monitoring smoke conditions on Highway 54. There were no injuries reported. Officials have not reported what started the fire.
