Two Salina men face first degree murder charges in connection to the death of Jason Hilary Patrick Latham, 40, of Salina.
On May 8, a caller reported finding a body in the 1900 block of N. Fifth Street. Officers responded and found the remains of a person who appeared to have been dead for a number of days, the Salina Police Department noted in a news release that same day. On May 11, the remains were identified as those of Latham.

This morning, the Salina Police Department announced that arrests had been made in connection to Latham's death.
"During this lengthy investigation into the death of Jason Latham, detectives of the Salina Police Department were able to establish this case as a homicide. Detectives determined probable cause existed for the arrest of two involved persons. Both subjects, Johnathon Terrance Mullen and Kelly Ray Luthi, were charged on May 19, 2023. The Saline County Attorney’s Office worked with the detectives on this case," the department noted in a news release Monday morning.

According to information from the Salina Police Department, Mullen, 36, of Salina, faces a charge of first degree murder and Luthi, 39, of Salina, faces charges of first degree murder and aiding and abetting.
