LEAVENWORTH COUNTY—One person died in an accident just before 4a.m. Saturday in Leavenworth County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2008 Chevy Corvette driven by Jeremy Head, 41, Leavenworth, was eastbound in the 700 Block of Shawnee Street in Leavenworth.at a high rate of speed. The car went airborne, became unstable when it made contact with the roadway. The vehicle rotated and struck the curb, a tree and a building.
Head was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Forensic Medical. EMS transported a passenger Margaret Spain, 32, Leavenworth to KU Medical Center. They were not wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.
