DOUGLAS COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating a drug overdose death and have made an arrest.
The 21-year-old Lawrence woman overdosed at home in July of 2025, according to a statement from Lawrence Police.
When officers arrived, she was not responsive despite being given multiple doses of Narcan. Officers administered another dose of Narcan and began other life-saving aid until medics arrived. She was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The case was taken over by the Lawrence Police Drug Investigations Unit and detectives worked to trace the origin of the drugs.
After a lengthy investigation, officers arrested 25-year-old Miles Robert Clasen of Lawrence, who was booked into the Douglas County Correctional Facility on a requested charge of distributing a controlled substance which resulted in death.
