
DOUGLAS COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating an accident that occurred just after 7a.m. Wednesday in Douglas County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2022 Ford F350 driven by Kaden Roger Kerr, 19, Eudora, was southbound at 173 E. 2338th Road. The truck rear-ended a 2017 IC School bus driven by Yesenia Vazquez-Arellano, 39, Edgerton, who was stopped with amber lights and stop sign activated, waiting for a student
The bus had 11 juvenile passengers. Three had minor injuries. None of them required transport for treatment, according to the KHP.

DOUGLAS COUNTY—A stark reminder of the importance of paying attention while driving, ditching all distractions, and focusing on the road, according to a social media report from the Kansas Highway Patrol Troop B.
While children were about to load onto a stopped school bus in Douglas County near U.S. 56 and Kansas 33, a truck rear-ended the bus.

"Sixteen children on their way to school, in what is supposed to be the safest way to get them there, shook and jarred by another vehicle that failed to stop for the bus."
There were no injuries to any children headed to school and only minor injuries to the truck driver.
