LEAVENWORTH COUNTY—A Kansas man died in an accident just before 7:30a.m. Thursday in Leavenworth County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2013 GMC Sierra driven by Heath L. Moore, 27, Leavenworth, was eastbound on U.S. 24 in Basehor.
The pickup rear-ended a 2002 Chevy Tracker driven by Marvin Giron-Ardon, 48, Kansas City, Kansas, who was slowing to make a left turn on 174th Street.
Giron-Ardon was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Frontier Forensics. EMS transported a passenger in the Chevy identified as Marco Tulio, 40, Kansas City, Kansas, to KU Medical Center. Moore was not wearing a seat belt, complained of pain but was not transported for treatment, according to the KHP.
