BUTLER COUNTY—A boy is being recognized as a hero for his actions at a Kansas lake over the Independence holiday weekend.
According to the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks Game Wardens, "Heroes come in all shapes, sizes, and ages. On Sunday 6-year-old Levi Alley alerted adults to a 5-year-old that was drowning at El Dorado Reservoir’s Walnut Swim Beach."
"Thanks to Levi’s attentiveness and quick response, the 5-year-old was rescued unharmed. Way to go Levi!"
