
On Friday in Leavenworth, Governor Kelly joined military leaders, families, and Kansans to celebrate and proclaim the Army’s 250th birthday.
The proclamation signing was hosted by the U.S. Army Combined Arms Center commanding general Lt. Gen. Milford H. Beagle Jr. and Command Sgt. Maj. Shawn F. Carns and honored the US Army's birthday on June 14 and celebrated Fort Leavenworth's partnership with the state of Kansas.
On social media Gov. Kelly wrote, "Our state has a proud tradition of service, and today's event was a reminder to honor all who have worn the uniform to defend our freedom."
