HARVEY COUNTY— Police arrested a Kansas woman Monday evening in the fatal hit-and-run crash that killed Laurie Robinson, 64, of Newton Monday morning.
Samara Maple, 23, was booked into Harvey County Jail on requested charges of failure to stop at an accident resulting in death, which is a felony. She is being held without bond.
Robinson died Monday morning after she was struck by a car while walking on Southeast 24th Street just east of Interstate 135 in Newton. Police began searching for a white Honda or Acura with passenger-side damage. Maple’s white Honda was taken by police after her arrest.
