Two people were arrested on requested drug charges after a stop in southwest Salina Sunday afternoon revealed cash and more than seven pounds of marijuana.
Salina Police Captain Gary Hanus said this morning that at 2:55 p.m. Sunday in the 1400 block of Oak Street, an officer stopped a maroon pickup because the registered owner had a suspended driver's license. The officer made contact with the driver, who was the registered owner, and a passenger in the vehicle.
The officer noticed the odor of burnt marajuana coming from within the pickup and had the two people exit the pickup, Hanus said. A search of the vehicle located cash and multiple bags totaling more than 7.5 pounds of marajuana.
Police arrested the driver Raul A. Guillen-Garcia, 20 and the passenger, identified as Azure E. Matson, 19, both of Salina.
Raul A. Guillen-Garcia is being held on requested charges of Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, Possession of marijuana, Felony possession of paraphernalia, Possession of paraphernalia, Tax stamp violation, Possession of drug proceeds and Driving while suspended.

Azure E. Matson is being held on requested charges of Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, Possession of marijuana, Felony possession of paraphernalia, Possession of paraphernalia, Tax stamp violation and Possession of drug proceeds.
