
KANSAS CITY—U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg will be in Kansas City, Kansas Friday morning to highlight the bipartisan $1 trillion infrastructure law and the associated investment in the region.
Buttigieg will join U.S. Representative Sharice Davids, Kansas City, Kansas mayor Tyrone Garner and other local and state officials and labor leaders at a roundtable discussion of how the law will benefit Kansas, according to a statement from the Department of Transportation.
Buttigieg will then hold a news conference with Rep. Davids, Kansas Department of Transportation Secretary Julie Lorenz, Mayor Garner and others at the Rock Island Bridge.
During his trip, Buttigieg will also visit the Kansas City U.S. Department of Transportation Field office to thank staff for their work.
President Joe Biden signed the infrastructure law November 15, and said it would deliver jobs, clean water, high-speed internet and a clean energy future.
