SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect on drug allegations.
Just before 2 a.m. Tuesday, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a gold 1994 Ford Explorer near SE 29th Street and SE Minnesota Avenue for failing to stop at a stop sign, according to Deputy Abigail Christian.
The driver 32-year-old Anthony K. Herrera of Topeka, had a suspended driver’s license and warrants for his arrest out of the City of Topeka and Jefferson County. During the investigation, illegal narcotics were located.
Herrera was booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections for his warrants and on requested charges of possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended driver’s license, vehicle registration violations, no liability insurance and failure to stop at a stop sign, according to Christian.
