SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas man on federal charges after a traffic stop.
Just before 4a.m. August 1, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a 2009 Hyundai Sonata in the 800 block of SE Adams Street. During the investigation, a Topeka Police Department K9 Unit assisted and illegal narcotics were located.
The driver, 36-year-old Clayton M. Becker of Topeka, was arrested and booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, interference with law enforcement and operating a vehicle without an interlock device.
The 34-year-old female passenger was released from the scene.
