Police release suspect details in Kan. sex assault investigation

SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are  investigating an aggravated sexual assault and requesting  information from the public.

Just after 2p.m. on Tuesday, officers responded to a sexual assault report at 20th Street North and Shelton in Wichita, according to Officer Charley Davidson.

A female victim who told police she was walking north on the bike path in the area of 18th Street North and Arkansas. While walking, a suspect approached her, showed her a handgun, and then grabbed private areas on her body.

The victim was able to push the suspect away and run to a nearby business for help. She was not injured.

The suspect is described as a white male, 6-foot tall, slender build, blue eyes, acne scars on his face, red full beard and mustache, and wearing black sweats, dirty light brown work boots, and a camo jacket.
