Thomas Edward Sehl (1946 ~ 2021)

On Tuesday evening, March 16, 2021, Thomas left behind his weary body and joined those who have gone before him.  Now free to do all the things that he could no longer do.

He has left behind to grieve his wife of many years, Jo; his daughter and her husband, Ira Leigh and Chris with their two children; his son Richard and his husband Paul, and their two precious kiddos (puppies).  Also, his sons Sean (Karen), Michael (Alyssa) and daughter, Rhonds (Darrell) Matal. There are 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Also left to grieve are two sisters, Edwina Daharsh and her husband, Floyd Daharsh, and Nadine McGrady and brother, Jerry and wife Dee, his many beloved friends including Mike and Keith.

Thomas’ life was consumed by his “job” of which he described as “never having to work, I just go daily and visit with my friends”.  He worked over 40 years in the animal health industry and was still employed when he made his last delivery on March 11th, and after entering the hospital, he made his last phone call to his friend/customer in Scott City.

Jo is his wife and his partner and his love, but Animal Health International was definitely his mistress, as is shown in the following written by “Chubb” Kline:

“It is with a heavy heart I inform you of the passing of Tom Sehl. Tom was a salesmen and company man and had the battle scars to prove it. Although Tom’s health had deteriorated in recent years it’s hard not to remember him as a titan of the industry. Although he hadn’t been operating at peak performance recently, he was still taking care of his customers and company up to the end. Tom always had a smile on his face and he was constantly on the verge of the next big deal. The key to his success was his infectious positive attitude and ability to constantly be selling himself and his services to his customers. He worked tirelessly in Kansas to grow and obtain some of the largest feeding organizations in Southwest Kansas. He will always be remembered for his work ethic, his smile, occasional joke and a deep desire to do what was best for the company he worked for.

"We have it from here old friend, thank up for the memories and the education you have blessed us all with over the years. God Bless.”

Please remember him with a smile and know that he left his wife with a list of things to be done, words for precious friends and that he shall be missed beyond description.

Per his request, there will be no services.

If anyone wishes to remember him with a memorial, he wanted donations to Sacred Heart School, 510 South School, Ness City, Kansas.
