KANSAS CITY —A Jackson County judge sentenced a Kansas City man to 10 years in prison for a shooting that caused serious physical injury to a juvenile, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson.

Jeremy Brown, Jr., 21, pled guilty to Unlawful Use of a Weapon last year.

According to court records, Lee’s Summit Police officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of SW Arbor Creek Drive in Lee’s Summit on August 15, 2022, and made contact with a juvenile suffering a gunshot wound to his lower back.

At the scene with the victim were three other juveniles who said they had a confrontation with another juvenile who drives a white Ford Escape. After the confrontation, the juveniles left the area in a vehicle and said they were being chased by the juvenile driving the white Ford Escape. When they were around the area of SW Kline, they said someone from the Ford Escape, later identified as Brown, began shooting at them and the victim was struck.
